I was in the Bass Pro Shops in Prattville today and the guy in the fly shop showed me an Orvis t3 (I think) that had been marked down on clearance that was originally $450 marked down to $250.  It was a 9' 8wt.  Although I would have loved to have the rod, with Christmas just around the corner, I would have been in trouble with the boss lady.  They also have some Sage Launch rods on sale, that I didn't get a price on.  The phone number to the Prattville store is 334-290-6400.  The guy that normally works in the flyfishing department is named George Williams and is a great guy to talk to if you have the chance to make by there.

good sale, but still over priced in my opinion. a lot of manufacturers are making room for next years stock. im not a fan of orvis though. they're great rods, they only cost an arm and a leg for the brand. i just bought an albright 9' 8wt. for a quarter of the price. the warranty may not be as good and it may not be as prestigous but it can catch just as many fish.

I have to say that I agree about being over priced.  If I fished everyday or guided I would probably splurge and buy an Orvis, Sage, Winston or the likes, but I don't and I'm not spending that type of money.
