White bass time
« on: March 09, 2010, 09:03:48 AM »
Has anyone specifically targeted the white bass spring run up the creeks?  This used to be a BIG DEAL, back in the day.  When you hit the run right, all the bridge access points in Cullman along the Smith Lake feeder creeks would be jammed with people.  Does not seem to garner that much attention anymore?

I want to launch the NuCanoe up a couple creeks and try my luck this year. Has anyone targeted these "stripes" specifically, if so what tactics and fly's do you recommend?

Look for the Dogwoods to start blooming!
That's when folks start hitting the creeks.

Yea, that has always been what the old timers said.  Used to the barber shop was the place to find out new's of that sort.  I'm due a haircut when I get in anyway.

White beetle spin seemed to be the ticket back then.  So I'm thinkin something white and gaudy, or maybe clouser's with lots of flash.

Scott, I'll post up here if I get them cornered!

Clousers, Gummy Minnows, Deceivers, Divers, and any Shad type fly does well.
